Above or below 5 tonnes — which do we need?
N201 is endorsed by machine weight, and the card records which. Match it to the machines your operators actually use; if you run both, we can cover both.
Is this the same as a 360 excavator card?
No. A 180° machine (typically a backhoe loader) is N201; a slewing 360° machine is N202. They are separate categories and separate cards.
How long does novice training take?
NPORS publishes up to 10 days as the maximum recommended novice duration. Most employers send operators with some experience, so the real answer comes from a pre-assessment — often 1–2 days for an experienced worker test.
Can you train on our machines?
Yes, and we prefer it. Operators are assessed on the machines and ground conditions they work on every day.
