Aims and Objectives
Ligature training is delivered to up-skill and empowers staff to recognise and
identify possible ligature points
And to help them implement control measures in order to support an individual
who is at risk from Ligature.
By the end of the course, attendees should have a better understanding of companypolicies, procedures and guidelines relating to ligatures.
Learners will also gain practical knowledge and skills to enable them to safely
and securely rescue an individual who has ligatured using a range of Ligature Cutters.
Objectives
To know what ligature and suicide are, and who they affect.
To be aware of the myths around suicide.
To know what can be done to help and support people who want to commit suicide.
To know how to manage the impact of suicide as an individual and as a care environment.
To be aware of useful interventions for working with young people are at risk of committing suicide.
To understand the ligature risk assessment. To be able to identify potential ligatures.
To be able to identify ligature points.
To know how to implement control measures.
To understand the use of the ligature knife – demonstration and practical.
understand how to manage the ligatured person.
To be aware of the personal risk assessment.
If clients want can add self-harm/suicide and make it 6 hrs training.
