ONE STOP SAFETY TRAINING
Fire Safety Training
Understanding the risks of fire in any work environment is important and making sure that you have people on site who are properly trained in this area is even more critical.
Dovewell Training provides two RQF-accredited courses at Levels 1 and 2 in fire safety awareness, giving participants a grounding in various important areas including basic fire safety duties and the principles of fire safety in the workplace.
There are thousands of workplace fires each year, most of which start accidentally. According to the statistics, there were nearly 12,000 non-residential fires in the UK in 2020/21, down by almost a half from previous years because many of us were working at home due to the pandemic. In most normal years, there are around 20,000 fires in businesses across the UK.
The leading cause of most fires is faulty appliances and leads. Industrial and retail premises seem to be at greater risk with industrial properties accounting for more than 1,700 instances during the 2020/21 period.
Having staff who have undergone fire safety awareness training can help reduce your risk and potentially save lives in the future. The training gives them the tools to ask serious questions about your business premises and to make potential changes that should ensure the safety of those working there.
For individuals, fire safety training is a great addition to any CV. Many businesses will look at this in a positive light and consider it as a benefit to their operation in addition to your role-related technical skills when you are applying for a particular job.
Apart from the potential to cause serious injury and even death, protecting your property from fire risks also has financial benefits. Having to close your work premises means loss of revenue and disruption to services. In addition, making sure that you are on the right side of health and safety at work regulations is critical if you want to avoid sanctions or fines.
