    What You Will Learn — Course Content
    & Outcomes

    The 2-day FAW Requalification course refreshes knowledge and skills across all
    critical areas of workplace first aid:

    • Legal responsibilities and first aider role — review of UK HSE requirements, reporting, and record keeping.
    • Assessment of casualties — updated primary and secondary survey skills, casualty monitoring, and incident evaluation.
    • CPR and AED use — adult, child, and infant CPR; AED operation practice.
    • Management of injuries and medical emergencies — update on treatment of bleeding, wounds, fractures, burns, head/spinal
      injuries, shock, heart attacks, strokes, seizures, asthma, diabetes, and allergic reactions.
    • Choking management — adult, child, and infant airway obstruction techniques.
    • Scenario-based practical exercises — simulated emergencies to apply skills under realistic conditions.
    • Assessment — continuous practical evaluation plus a short theory check.

    By the end of the course, participants will be confident to continue acting as a competent first aider in the workplace.
