    What You Will Learn — Course

    The 3-day FAW course equips participants with practical skills and knowledge
    to deal with serious and complex workplace incidents. Topics include:

    Role and responsibilities of a First Aider

    • Legal obligations under UK health & safety law

    • Infection control, scene safety, risk assessment

    • Incident recording and reporting procedures

    Casualty assessment and primary survey

    • DRABC (Danger, Response, Airway, Breathing, Circulation)

    • Secondary survey and monitoring vital signs

    CPR and AED use

    • Adult, child and infant CPR

    • Automated External Defibrillator operation

    Management of injuries

    • Bleeding, wounds, fractures, burns, scalds, eye injuries

    • Head, spinal and chest injuries

    Medical emergencies

    • Heart attack, stroke, seizure, asthma, diabetes, allergic reactions, shock

    • Recognition and immediate response

    Choking management

    • Adult, child and infant airway obstruction techniques

    Practical simulations and scenarios

    • Realistic workplace scenarios to build confidence in responding to emergencies
